The New England New Economy Transition (New England NET) is a project of the Institute for Policy Studies based in Boston, MA. We are working to spread the word about the new economy movement and support community and regional resilience.
The “new economy” is an economy that works for everyone in harmony with the planet. It is based in ecological balance, equitable distribution of wealth, and living democracy. Builders of the new economy envision a system of locally rooted, cooperative, equitable economies that enhance wellbeing for all.
New economies are locally rooted, so New England NET roots its work in its own backyard – the diverse Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain.
We also recognize that local economies are nested within larger systems, so we support work to enhance the resilience of the New England region.
